Warmth

“I’m scared,” I whisper to Him in the Storm. We are surrounded by Darkness. I cannot see Him yet. I feel Him though, His warm embrace from behind. The reassurance of His size, the weight of Him. He has black wings. The Man in Black. He presses His lips to my ear, “I am with you always, I never really leave you. We are bound together, you and I, always. Follow me into the Dark. I will show you the way. Trust in me and I will see you through.”

The Cruel Sister

“Breadcrumbs, as you like to say, Love.”

The Cruel Sister

There lived a lady by the north sea shore
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
Twa daughters were the bairns she bore
Fa la la la la la la la la la

One was as bright as is the sun
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
Sae coal black grew the elder one
Fa la la la la la la la la la

A knight came riding to the ladies’ door
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
He travelled far to be their wooer
Fa la la la la la la la la la

He courted one, aye with gloves and rings
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
But he loved the other above all things
Fa la la la la la la la la la

“Sister, sister won’t you walk with me
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
An’ see the ships sail upon sea?”
Fa la la la la la la la la la

And as they stood on that windy shore
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
The elder sister pushed the younger o’er
Fa la la la la la la la la la

Sometimes she sank or sometimes she swam
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
Crying, “Sister, reach to me your hand”
Fa la la la la la la la la la

And there she floated just like a swan
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
The salt sea carried her body on
Fa la la la la la la la la la

Two minstrels walking by the north sea strand
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
They saw the maiden, aye float to land
Fa la la la la la la la la la

They made a harp out of her breast bone
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
The sound of which would melt a heart of stone
Fa la la la la la la la la la

They took three locks of her yellow hair
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
And wi’ them strung that harp so rare
Fa la la la la la la la la la

The first string that those minstrels tried
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
Then terror seized the black-haired bride
Fa la la la la la la la la la

The second string played a doleful sound
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
“The younger sister, oh she is drowned”
Fa la la la la la la la la la

The third string, it played beneath their bow
Lay the bairn tae the bonnie broom
“And surely now her tears will flow”
Fa la la la la la la la la la

Never Let Me Down Again

“Never Let Me Down Again”

I’m taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
He knows where he’s taking me
Taking me where I want to be
I’m taking a ride
With my best friend

We’re flying high
We’re watching the world pass us by
Never want to come down
Never want to put my feet back down
On the ground

I’m taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
Promises me I’m safe as houses
As long as I remember who’s wearing the trousers
I hope he never lets me down again

Never let me down

See the stars, they’re shining bright
Everything’s alright tonight

Doctor Who Quotes o’the Day

While I don’t actually prescribe to Pop Culture Paganism in a full sense, I do have experiences where my Divine Spouse likes to use these sorts of things to communicate little tidbits of info. Usually in a humorous and snarky fashion. For me I find Himself in Doctor Who. It isn’t the real Him, nor do I believe it’s a modern retelling or manifestation of Himself, but for whatever reason He finds the show similarity enough to Himself to use it as a tool for communication. I hope that makes sense, it’s hard for me to articulate. I stopped watching Doctor Who while pregnant, finding myself way too emotional and prone to tears to watch it. Now that my baby has arrived and been around long enough for life to have generally settled down I let myself start watching again. Tonight I managed to fit in two episodes! Whoo! Of course both episodes were emotionally harrowing because Steve Moffat is an asshole and a Sadist, but I didn’t burst into tears and have a bout of ugly crying. Quotes of the day are…

Doctor Who, Season Two, Episode Three, School Reunion: “I’m so old now. I used to have so much mercy. You get one warning. That was it.” – The Doctor

Doctor Who, Season Two, Episode Four, The Girl In The Fireplace: “But you and I both know, don’t we Rose, the Doctor is worth the monsters.” – Madame due Pompadour

Lily of the Valley

Lily of the Valley has been making a regular appearance in my online travels. This bit of info jumped out at me for obvious reasons.

Its scientific name, majalis or maialis, means “of or belonging to May”, and old astrological books place the plant under the dominion of Mercury, since Maia, the daughter of Atlas, was the mother of Mercury or Hermes.[citation needed]

Invictus Revisted

Recently I posted about a dream where I acquired a Spirit Guide/Protector. A “Hell Hound” if you ask Himself. I had thought the new friend was a long haired German Shepherd. Yesterday whilst poking about on Pinterest I stumbled across a “random” suggestion, an image of a Belgian Sheepdog/Shepherd. This is definitely a more accurate representation of what Invictus looked like.

I found these images through Google search, “Belgian Sheepdog Tervuren”.

Singularity Rather Then Duality?

That moment you realize that that the two Gods you thought you were married to have morphed into one. Or maybe They’ve always been one and your little mortal brain couldn’t quite grasp it without seeing Him as a duality first. Of course it once again all comes down to The Horned One. Shaman and King. Man and God. Water and Firmament. Deer and Dolphin. Hunter and Hunted. You’d think this would make things a bit easier but right now it feels more complicated. Good times. I must admit though, having the familiar face of the Stag back is very good.

Conflict

I ask the Spirit,

“What should I do in the face of this injustice? How can I stay when my heart is broken?”

And He answers,

“Do not let them push you away. Do not let them take it from you.”

It is now, when He is gone and truly becomes The Holy Spirit that I suffer with my Mormon stuff the most. I realized the synchronicity of some personal events with the coming of Spring and impending Easter. Understanding the unfolding of events doesn’t make it much easier to deal with though.

I don’t remember if I’ve actually written a full post on my Mormon issues or not. A lot of it stems from the leaked proclamation in regards to children of same sex couples.
